Full Circle of Giving

Full Circle of Giving……I was brought to tears.  We went into the town of Tanauan, the first landfall of Yolanda.  Maybe it was the half naked children, maybe it was the slit latrine or the state of the "homes" of the people, maybe it was the spirit and gentleness of these survivors who have every right to be bitter,……but I could not hold back the tears.  I remembered the cold weeknight in the TWECS warehouse parking lot 2 months ago among good friends, strangers and family, sorting the clothing donations into mens, women's, boys, girls, toys, kitchen and linen and not knowing if it will get to the people who deserve it.  I remember the drive to the container warehouse in Coquitlam immediately after school in the rain with Evan and Emma eating a Subway sandwich for dinner because we had to pack the 600 boxes into the overseas container ……mostly I remember praying that we would be there to see the donations get to the people that needed them……….my prayers came true today.  We can't thank you enough for making a difference in the lives of these survivors.  We saw it in their eyes and in their smiles and their  Thank yous - Salamat!!
